From Surviving to Living.
Travel agent · Migrant mum · Building a new life in Australia.
Being a migrant changed the way I see my own country, and it forced me to look at myself, too. This is where I share both: trips designed for people who want to know Latin America beyond its landscapes, and notes from my own path, on moving to a new country, staying present, and stepping off the treadmill toward the next visa.

South America

About
I’m Cynthia, Argentine, 40, mum, and a travel agent by profession. In late 2023 I moved to Australia with my family, and I’m still here on a provisional visa, figuring out what comes next. Moving didn’t give me the fresh start I expected. It took getting here to notice I’d been surviving, not living, long before I ever left. That’s where Present Tense comes from: what I’m learning about staying present instead of chasing the next thing, written as I go, not once I’ve figured it out. South America is where the other half of me still lives, and where I write from that place: sharing what makes this part of the world so intriguing, for people from other cultures who want to see it beyond the postcard.
